You can remove unwanted sections of your footage to clean up clips. This is useful for trimming silence, removing bad takes, or shortening the beginning and end of a recording. Capsule gives you two ways to make cuts: Transcript View and Pro View.

Cutting in Transcript View

Use Transcript View when you want to quickly remove sections of dialogue or long silences.

  • Highlight the section of the transcript you want to remove.

  • Click the Delete button.

  • The selected section will be cut from your clip.

Cutting in Pro View

Use Pro View when you need more precise control—for example, trimming only part of a silence or cleaning up a trailing word.

  • Switch to Pro View (lower-left corner of the screen).

  • Drag the beginning or end of the clip to the desired timestamp.

  • The new in/out points will become the updated start and end of your clip.

Tip: Use Transcript View for fast edits, and Pro View when you need frame-level precision.
