You can remove unwanted sections of your footage to clean up clips. This is useful for trimming silence, removing bad takes, or shortening the beginning and end of a recording. Capsule gives you two ways to make cuts: Transcript View and Timeline View.
Cutting in Transcript View
Use Transcript View when you want to quickly remove sections of dialogue or long silences.
Highlight the section of the transcript you want to remove.
Click the Delete button.
The selected section will be cut from your clip.
Cutting in Timeline View
Use Timeline View when you need more precise control—for example, trimming only part of a silence or cleaning up a trailing word.
Switch to Timeline View (lower-left corner of the screen).
Drag the beginning or end of the clip to the desired timestamp.
The new in/out points will become the updated start and end of your clip.
✅ Tip: Use Transcript View for fast edits, and Timeline View when you need frame-level precision.
