Often times, you don't need the beginning or the end of a clip you recorded. This could be silence, or a bad take, or just something you don't want anymore!

There are a couple of ways to make cuts, or trim the beginning and end of a clip in Capsule.

Making Cuts With The Transcript

You can use the transcript to cut out large silences or bad takes. Highlight the section you want to remove, then click on the delete button to remove.

Timeline View

If you want to keep a part of the silence, or a word trails into a silence, you can still trim the clip!

Open up timeline view from the lower left settings.

Here you can drag the beginning and the end of a clip to a specific time. That will become the new start or end of the clip!
